Character Generation Here is a review of what we covered for character generation in my modern day campaign. Characters will start at third level, the first two levels are your own to develop, third level represents one year's worth of training by E.R.I.S. Any points left over are yours to spend. I believe I said you would be paid a retainer of $20,000 per year, could requisition $40,000 dollars worth of personal equipment and would be paid about $1000 per day on a mission depending on the difficulty/danger involved. I actually forgot to write the actual numbers down, so if my memory is incorrect, please let me know. F.Y.I., if equipment that you want cannot be found in a Rolemaster product, I have several GURPS supplements with equipment descriptions with weights and prices. I will accept pretty much any reasonable role-playing product or real world catalogue entry, provided I'm provided with a copy. The following skills are required to be taken at third level if you have four ranks or less in the skill already. They are optional if you already have more than 4 ranks. If you have eight or more ranks, you cannot benefit from the Education skill roll. The Education skill roll is the number shown after the skill name, this is the modified roll achieved by the person that was teaching the skill listed. Refer to Black Ops or Pulp Adventures for a full description of the skill. Briefly, the number given is modified according to your cost for the skill being taught: Normal DP Cost Difficulty 1 to 4 points Medium (+0) 5 to 10 points Hard (-10) 11 to 20 points Very Hard (-20) more than 20 points Extremely Hard (-30) For character development, I am considering any roll of 75 or greater to be successful, therefore with the worst modifier (-30) any roll of 105 or greater will be successful for anybody. A successful roll indicates that the cost to buy that particular rank is only half it's original value. If desired, this can be applied the second (or third) rank purchased at third level instead of the first rank. i.e. if your cost for Body Development was 1/3/6, you could pay for the first two ranks (4 points total) and then pay half for the third rank (3). Note, even if the Education roll indicates failure, you are still required to buy a rank )at full cost) in the skill if you have fewer than four ranks. Your training can also include three additional skills that can be taught. Provide me with a list of the skills you wish to be taught and I will inform you of the skill rolls. An additional requirement (which I neglected to mention) is that one rank in the category (if applicable) that the skill falls under is needed as well.
