Bindel Hobsgon, Groink Vehnecar, Jhilbherth Vhenegaard, Deric & Wendel begin their adventures. Wendel is poisoned by a giant spider and dies, but is raised by Mendrick. A dwarf (Greg) joins the party briefly but is killed by Bindel. Wendel rejoins the party, bringing along another dwarf (Darryl). Jhilbhereth leaves the adventuring party. The party encounters St. Cuthbert while on the trip back to Mendrick's where they spend the winter.
YEAR 578 GH 1353 DR 1328 CR The party is sent to an underground complex to recover a large gemstone. Most of the party is badly injured while fighting shockers, green slime, and owlbears. They rescue a paladin then encounter a band of kobolds. The party builds a catapult which they use to fling kobolds with. After encountering a few more monsters the party decides to rest. Bindel decides to do some advance scouting and is killed by undead. Elnamor joins the party and they complete the rest of the mission with little difficulty. Rididel Bidigen arrives on GreyHawk. The adventuring party proceeds to Elnamor's home in Highfolk to dispatch a troublesome band of orcs. George the orc is charmed by Elnamor. As a reward for eliminating the orcs Elnamor is made a Knight of the Goldenleaf and is given a suit of Elven Chainmail. The other party members are also given rewards. Rididel begins apprenticing under Mendrick to become a magic user. Fibindel, Zandraal, Elendor, and Holly Lai begin adventuring. The dwarf (Darryl) dies in an avalanche over winter. Elnamor's toad familiar dies over winter. YEAR 579 GH 1354 DR 1329 CY Elanamor acquires White Wing, an owl, as a familiar. Elanamor, Grionk, Deric, and Wendel meet in the spring. While travelling to Vanderville to meet Mendrick they rescue Jim the Paladin from hill giants. The party then returns to the Lortmil Mountains to explore the passageways beyond the underground complex. After crossing and following an underground river and battling several minor monsters, the party arrives at an underground lake with an island in the middle and an opening to the sky above. While travelling across the lake on a boat found on the shore, the party is attacked by the Red Dragon Snarg. The party dives into the water to avoid the dragon's breath weapon. Elnamor hangs onto his two handed sword to speed his descent and escapes injury. Jim does not fare as well and must be dragged to shore by Groink, Deric, and Wendel, where he is tended to by Deric while Groink and Wendel attempt to fend off Snarg, with little success. Meanwhile, Elnamor has swum to the island and discovers Snarg's lair, where he finds a Frost Brand sword. At that point Snarg returns and is defeated by Elnamor. After this, the party travels to Wendel's home town of Smaltville where Deric starts building a church with charmed kobold labour and Wendel marries his childhood sweetheart, Ramona, a druid. The party then travels to Elnamor's home. They have several more adventures, following a trail of evil that leads them to the town of Thornwood in the dead of winter. YEAR 580 GH 1355 DR 1330 CR The Battle with the Frost Giants at Thornwood takes place near the end of winter. After defeating the frost giants, the members of the party go their separate ways. Fibendel, Zandraal, Elendor, Holly Lai, Standelf Silverroot, and Jim the Paladin begin adventuring in Ravenloft. Holly Lai is killed by Fibindel when she agrees to allow him to ride in her backpack. Jim survives a fall from 200 feet in the air but is later killed, along with Elendor and Standelf when they get separated from the rest of the party and are ambushed by Strahd. The remaining party members flee Ravenloft Castle. Fibindel returns to the castle alone that evening. He gets caught in a teleport trap which separates him from his equipment and leaves him wearing the rags of a wight. After fleeing wraiths and wights, Fibindel finds the room which contains his equipment, but Strahd is also in the room. Fibindel recovers his magical grappling hook and fights Strahd to a standstill with it. As Strahd prepares to go gaseous to escape, Fibindel recovers his two magical daggers and kills Strahd with two near perfect throws. The rest of the year is spent recovering from wounds taken from the vampire and cleaning out and renovating Castle Ravenloft. Fibindel has Strahd's head shrunken, coated with gold and made into a belt buckle. YEAR 581 GH 1356 DR 1331 CR The Kingdom of Ravenloft is formed with Fibindel as King. Fibindel and Furnock steal the Swords Wayfinder and Woundhealer from the ship of Lloyd Phelps, high priest of the temple of Zeus. Groink arrives in Ravenloft, looking for Furnock, shortly after being hired by some druids to protect them from werewolves on midsummers eve while they pick their mistletoe. Gloink & Gunther arrive in Ravenloft. Elnamor, Gunther, Tobas (Peter's thief or assassin) and Jhon (Greg's barbarian) are hired by Lord Thorndyke to rescue his daughter, Lyran, from bandits. The party discovers that Lyran has married Donaven, the bandit leader and that Lord Thorndyke is an evil person, with links to the Drow. Lyran agrees to travel back with the party so that the party may fulfil the letter of their contract with Lord Thorndyke. Jhon elects to remain with the bandits and Selena joins the party. When the party arrives at Lord Thorndyke's manor house they are ambushed by Drow elves. Lord Thorndyke is killed as well as several Drow. Lyran returns to the bandits. Elnamor, Gunther, Selena, and Tobas pursue the remaining Drow underground. The party battles troglodytes and goblins before catching and defeating the remaining Drow. The party then returns to Ravenloft for a rest. Tobas retires from adventuring. Meanwhile, Tibit and Rididel have arrived in Ravenloft and have gotten to know Fibindel. Rididel is made court magician and a plot is hatched to assassinate Zandraal. A necklace of strangulation is acquired and several similar looking necklaces which temporarily increase charisma are made. Tibit is to add these to the first chest of treasure that is found . Zandraal, Gunther, and Groink are then asked to join an exhibition to explore the complex discovered under Ravenloft Castle. The plan works and Zandraal perishes, but his body mysteriously disappears the following night. Elnamor, Selena, and Gunther (check for others) head towards the mountains (GDQ). Along the way they battle trolls and kobolds on a bridge. They kill an Ogre Magi but George the Orc is killed. They also battle Harpies and a Roc, who have been preying on a herd of pegasi. Elnamor acquires Arilon the Pegasus as a mount. YEAR 582 GH 1357 DR 1332 CR GDQ is completed, Lloth is slain, Selena goes missing in the abyss with a dark skinned elf riding a large red dragon. Gunther retires, Alan Greenleaf joins the party, Ilyrean joins the party. (This section to be expanded). Elnamor makes his Knight's Great Sword, becomes a Knight of the High Forest and has his Elven Chain upgraded to Elven Plate. Gunther is given a suit of Elven Chain and other party members are also rewarded for their roles in slaying Lloth. During the week long celebration which follows, the party winds up being teleported to the Forgotten Realms. (expand) They regroup on the north shore of the Moonsea, then travel along the shore for a day, arriving at the city of Phlan. They proceed through the adventures detailed in "Ruins of Adventure" apparently destroying Tyranthraxus. The party acquires a manor house and stays in Phlan for a short time. The circus of Dr. Trundles comes to town and the party must help deal with escaped monsters. Afterwards the party, now calling themselves The Lost Boys adventuring company, are approached by Garlen and Garven from the village of Bloodstone seeking aid for their village. The party agrees to help. They travel for eight days to get to the mountains, six days are spent travelling through the mountains, to arrive at Tomrav. They then travel for another five days to Valls. Alan Greenleaf remains in Valls to spend time recruiting an army while Elnamor scouts ahead. After a week, the Lost Boys arrive in Bloodstone encountering hill giants, dwarves, halflings, faerie dragons, a centaur, and orcs along the way. About 3 weeks pass, during which time the Lost Boys defeat the bandit army, fortify Bloodstone village, and recruit and train an army. Early in the month of Eleint (September) torrential rains sweep through Bloodstone Pass for a week, followed by a sudden freeze, destroying the harvest. The village is attacked from inside the walls by worgs. The Lost Boys track the worgs back to the Church of St. Sollars where they discover that Aldric, the Head Cleric, has been turned into a vampire. The Lost Boys proceed through the events in the module H2, rescuing Selena from a prison cell, with no memory of what happened in the abyss. YEAR 583 GH 1358 DR 1333 CR Eros arrives in Waterdeep and does some adventuring. (expand) Vampires pg 53 book of lairs. steaks pg 61 adventure pack I The Lost Boys encounter Eros while shopping in WaterDeep for wedding presents. In the month of Mirtul (May) Lady Christine and Olwen Forest Friend wed. On the first day of Kythorn (June) the Avatar Tales begin, The Lost Boys use this as an opportunity to strike at Zengyi The Lich King & Orcus, defeating them but apparently losing Elnamor and Arilon, who have disappeared. Selena's sword also gets destroyed. The Lost Boys go into temporary retirement. Selena discovers that she is pregnant and retires to her tower. In the month of Marpenoth (October) a special scouting unit of the Bloodstone Militia is created, consisting of Garven, Eros Cappela, Vikos the Centaur, Shadowspawn, Loudon, Arthanon, and Dacula. This unit is assigned the duty of scouting the road ahead of a large caravan of Bloodstones intended for trade in the city of Heliogabulus. Arthanon deserts almost immediately and is replaced by Ariel Hawkwood. Archon Linthal joins the unit shortly thereafter. After several encounters, including one in which Garven meets his deity and is granted Paladinhood, the unit arrives safely in Heliogabulus. They spend some time in the city during which they meet Bronis the Minotaur, Eros meets the Cat Lord, and robs the Mayor's manor house, acquiring a pet cat in the process (more about the cat later). The party then pursues a ship belonging to a red wizard of Thay after Ariel is captured and taken prisoner along with others who are to be sold into slavery in Thay. The mayor is discovered to be in league with the slavers. The party decides to investigate the mayor's house more completely, encountering a naga when following a secret passage below the house. Eros assassinates the mayor while he is at the theatre. At some point during their stay, Dacula is killed but reincarnated as a human by the clerics at Garven's temple. A passageway to the Drow Realms is also found but not explored. A Drow elf kills and takes the place of a female cleric of Garven's religion who was to travel to Bloodstone with the party to help set up a temple there. The Avatar Tales end and the party starts on their way home. They take Bronis's galleon to Goliad. Dacula decides to go for a late night swim and is killed by undead. In the morning the party enters the ruins of Goliad and battle several monsters including frost giants, at which point they meet Allen, a dwarf who uses an arquebus for a weapon. Eros decides that Bronis should stay with the party as they travel over land to Bloodstone so Eros sneaks to the galleon and burns it down to ensure that Bronis remains with the party. After arriving in Bloodstone, the Drow elf attempts to poison Elnamor but fails and the attempt costs her life. The Lost Boys, consisting this time of Elnamor, Alan GreenLeaf, Ilearyn, Tibit, and Arilon leave for the Drow Underground to attempt to determine if Lloth exists on this plane of existence. Garven, Eros, Shadowspawn, Ariel, Archon, Bronis and Allen spend the winter in Bloodstone. YEAR 584 GH 1359 DR 1334 CR FORGOTTEN REALMS While sitting in the bar, the party meets Rastafan Dimetar, a courtier in the court of King Azoun IV of Cormyr (Beginning of the module Curse of the Azure Bonds). He is looking for adventurers to travel to Tilverton to search for the King's daughter, Alusair Nacacia. The party, being somewhat bored, agree to go to Tilverton. They acquire chariots to speed the journey, travel four days to Valls, ten days through the mountains to Mulmaster. Along the way they meet the Nameless Bard. From Mulmaster they travel by sea for two days to Elmwood then for four more days to Hillsfar. One day out from Hillsfar, near the edge of the elven woods, the party encounters a group of bandits who have slain a Silver Dragon and are beginning to boil two silver dragon eggs. The party deposes of the bandits and rescue the eggs, one of which is cracked slightly. Eros takes the cracked egg and Garven takes the other. The party takes the bandit's wagons and continue on towards Tilverton. Two days later, while still in the elven woods the party is ambushed by a group consisting of thieves, drow mercenaries, clerics and magic users. Eros uncorks an eversmoking bottle and shrouds the entire are in smoke for several weeks, however, despite a good fight, the party is still captured. The party wakes up in Tilverton to discover that they have Azure Bonds on their arms and a month of time has passed. They spend a day in Tilverton trying to find more information on the bonds and taking out a thieves guild known as the Fire Knives. They acquire the services of Filani of Tantras and she teleports Eros and Shadowspawn to Waterdeep and the rest of the party to Shadowdale the next day to talk to Elminster. The party has no luck getting a meeting with Elminster but spend some time in Shadowdale and gain information on the Blade of Lathander. Allen decides to return to Tilverton to recover the chariots and does not return. The party then travels for six days to Yulash, meeting Shela the Druid along the way. The party is reunited with Eros and Shadowspawn who have spent their treasure to have their bonds removed while in WaterDeep. The party adventures in Yulash, travels two days to Zentil Keep, spends about ten days there having dragon hide armour made, cause utter chaos, travel for thirteen days to Essembra them one day to the village of Hap where they are reunited with Allen. Archon is killed when he runs into a prismatic wall on a staircase. Garven is teleported away when he tackles a wizard. The party then begins travelling to Myth Drannor. Four days into the journey a Dracolich offers them a lift, Eros kills Allen when he prepares to shoot the Dracolich with his arquebus. Eros and Shadowspawn refuse the ride and arrive under their own power later that evening. They decide to proceed onto Myth Drannor to rescue Garvern without the rest of the party, feeling that two thieves alone stand a better chance than and entire party. They succeed in rescuing Garven and they kill the wizard and destroy Tyranthraxus for good this time. Elminster shows up to congratulate the party and teleports them to Bloodstone where they proceed to spend another boring winter. On the 27th day of The Ches of The Sunsets (March) Selena gives birth to a son. GREYHAWK A short time after his 18th birthday, Maygar the Centaur is cast out from his herd for avenging his sister's murder. In the month of Planting he finds himself in Hommlet in the Inn of the Welcome Wench. There he meets Galandor and Elmo. They discuss the events surrounding the Temple of Elemental Evil, and are joined by Troy Donaven. They decide to head to the town of Nulb to investigate further. On the way, they deal with two assassins and later with two werewolves. Just outside of Nulb, the party is attacked by two owlbears. After arriving in town, Troy and Elmo go looking for Elmo's brother and Galandor and Maygar go to the bar, where a thief tries to pick Maygar's pockets and gets kicked across the bar as a result. Galandor chases the thief upstairs and gets involved in a fight. Meanwhile, a fight breaks out in the bar downstairs. Maygar notices a dwarf chasing an elf who is heading to the stairs. Maygar decides to give the dwarf a boost by picking him up and throwing him at the elf. Unfortunately for the dwarf, the elf dodges and the dwarf piledrives the stairway. Later, after the fights have settled down and everyone is eating dinner, the front wall of the bar disintegrates into a wall of flames. Maygar heads for a side exit, destroying two dark skinned elves who try to stop him. After grabbing Galandor and convincing him that he should stay out of the fight going on outside, they see Elmo and an Elven Knight with a copper dragon for a mount get reduced to a greasy pile on the street by a dark skinned elf with a purple dragon birthmark on his chest, and riding a red dragon as a mount. He had two companions with him. Nobody sticks around to see what happens next. A storm was rolling in so Maygar, Galandor, Troy, and the elf and the dwarf from the bar took shelter in a cave a little ways outside of town on higher ground. On the 25th day of Planting a tropical storm hits Nulb, lasting two days and putting down 14 inches of rain. The next day is quite calm but the following day, the last of the month, a gale hits Nulb, lasting for three days and putting down 17 inches of rain. There is another one day break in the storm, then a heavy rainstorm puts down 4 more inches of rain. By the time the storms clear on the fifth day of Flocktime, Nulb has received 35 inches of rain over eight days. After waiting for a couple more days, the party decides to return to Nulb, except for the elf, who goes off to explore the Temple of Elemental Evil and is never seen again. (continue) capture by slavers. attacked by sea zombies. travel to ravenloft, adventure a bit, raising money to buy supplies to travel in the sea of dust. chimera pg 40 book of lairs II YEAR 585 GH 1360 DR 1335 CR HIGHWAYMEN The Highwaymen are in the courtyard at Garven and Garlens's castle when an anchor drops from the sky and they are off spelljamming. Garven stays behind and the Highwaymen adventuring party consists of Bronis, Eros, Ariel, Shela, and Shadowspawn. While adventuring through the events outlined in the module SJA1, "Wildspace". Lavinia, an Amazon, and a Winged Folk join the group. During the module Bronis gets hit by a beam of annihilation but is saved by divine intervention. After the module ends, the Highwaymen, now in command of the Skyrunner, realize that they are lost. They come across an ancient elven ship, complete with an ancient elf and his crew, which have all been polymorphed into frogs. An experimental jump/teleport drive that the elf has created is set off, throwing the ship, with Bronis, Ariel, Lavinia, & Shadowspawn to a skycity in the Known World. They meet counterparts of Eros, Elnamor, and Tibit who bear some resemblance to the ones on the Forgotten Realms but with important differences. They end up on an adventure with Dain (Elisha's brother). They meet Springle the sprite along the way. The whole party ends up dying but are returned to life when Springle volunteers to stay in the underworld if the rest of the party is released. After the adventure is completed, a spell is cast that will send the party back to their home planet. As it turns out the majority of the adventuring party has their origins on planet Greyhawk and the party finds themselves standing outside Castle Ravenloft. The Highwaymen recruit Riddidel Bidigen, now a cleric, to lead the party to a gateway to the Forgotten Realms, using a gem set in his wrist which has the ability to detect gateways. A paladin who is in town also joins the party, hoping that the gateway will allow him to return to his home world of Krynn. The party travels along the Javen River for about 3 weeks until they arrive in the city of Hochoch. A misunderstanding occurs when the party enters a bar in town and some of the patrons attack Bronis, thinking him to be a normal, unintelligent, minotaur. During the confusion Shadowspawn kills one of the town guards and is arrested for murder. The Highwaymen break Shadowspawn out of jail. As a result of his helping break someone out of jail who belonged there, the paladin is stripped of his paladinhood and becomes a normal fighter. He decides that he must now certainly return to Krynn and attempt to regain his status. The gateway is reached and discovered to be an ancient spaceship. (S3). (This route had been used a month or so earlier by Hunt & Elisha, see OUTCASTS). During the course of exploring the ship, Bronis & Lavinia are killed by an intellect devourer. Ariel and Riddidel capture the intellect devourer in Riddidel's portable hole and decide to make a quick, one week, round trip to the city of Gorna. Once there they trade the intellect devourer for a rod of resurrection with 3 charges. They travel back to the ship and bring back Lavinia and Bronis and set off to find Shadowspawn and the (ex) Paladin. They find Shadowspawn dead near the medical labs, having had a bad encounter with a ghost and suffering from radiation poisoning, in addition to driving his body into the closed door of the medical lab in an attempt to break it down to get inside. The last charge in the wand is used to bring Shadowspawn back. They discover a note from the paladin stating that he has figured out that the ship phases between Krynn, Greyhawk, and the Forgotten Realms in a 24 hour cycle. The party disembarks from the ship, back on the Forgotten Realms some two months after leaving. The Highwaymen travel from the ship, which is in the mountains on the northern border of Cormyr, to the city of Suzail, which takes about five days. They meet some of the crew of the Skyrunner and discover that the Skyrunner crashed off the Sword Coast near the town of Mordentshire, but that Eros had disappeared when he was hit by a beam generated by the elf's ship when it jumped. The party decides to buy a ship and sail back to Bloodstone. The trip takes them 45 days. After spending a week in Bloodstone they discover from Garven that Eros was sent back in time by the beam and was "stored" in a gem, along with his familiar and his pseudodragon. The gems had been turned invisible and stored on a collar on Ero's other cat. The party runs into the Winged Folk and he tells them that the cat was saved when the Skyrunner crashed but escaped while in Mordentshire. Garven was also sent back in time by his deity to assist Eros, which is how Garven got the information he had. Garven was given an item which allowed him to return to his proper time, as well as allowing him to exist during a time that he already existed in as a younger person. Eros had no such device, and had to be put into stasis before the time in which he originally arrived on the Forgotten Realms. If he was not put into stasis, his older self would cease to exist when his younger self arrived. (got all of that ?). To Garven's knowledge, they succeeded in their plans. Unknown to Garven, a drow elf got hold of the cat and replaced the gems with one containing himself, disguised as Eros, and two dummy gems. The Highwaymen decide to go to Mordentshire to look for the cat. They travel by ship to Proskur, a journey of 48 days, on the way they encounter seawolves, which causes some concern when some of the party members are injured and risk turning into seawolves on the next full moon. Fortunately it turns out that nobody is infected and the Highwaymen continue on. They travel overland for 41 days, meeting Garven at a magical pool which raises everyone's base armour class by one point. Lavinia acquires a unicorn as a mount while at the pool. There is some tension between the unicorn and Ariel's griffon but it appears to be under control. When the party nears Mordentshire (I10 Ravenloft II) they are attacked by a vampire and some banshees and are killed. It turns out to be a delusion and the party wakes up in an inn in Mordentshire. They have all been incapacitated by fever for 3 days. After 2 days, the party finds the cat, after offering a large reward for it. Eros is recovered, or so they think, and they discover that Mordentshire is infested with vampires. Riddidel immediately decides to leave for Waterdeep. Bronis is killed (again) in a bog and the party destroys the House on Gryphon Hill by casting Rock to Mud on the lower walls. The rest of the party decides to try and catch up with Riddidel, with the exception of Garven who cannot leave the town in the grip of a vampire. In the showdown between the Alchemist Strahd and the Creature Strahd, Garven must fight many creatures including Hellhounds, Shadow Mastiffs, Dire Wolves, and an evil version of himself. Finally Garven, the Alchemist, and the Creature all tumble over the edge of the cliff. The fall kills the Alchemist and the Creature and leaves Garven with one hit point. As he is struggling up the cliff, Garven sees a figure in a black and red cloak looking down at him briefly and then it walks away, disappearing into the fog. After spending a day to recover and to determine that things in Mordentshire are alright, Garven sets out after the rest of the party, only to discover their bodies at a campsite along the road, with the exception of Eros. The false Eros had used a combination of magical spells and guile to goad the party members into attacking each other and weakening themselves to the point that they were easy to finish off.(detail) Unfortunately for the imposter, he had assumed that Garven would never survive fighting the vampire. Garven travelled to Waterdeep where he got in touch with the Lost Boys, who had just returned from adventuring in the Abyss for a year, but could not remember any of the events that occurred there. They quickly hunted down and killed the imposter and located and freed the real Eros. The members of the party who had perished were brought back, including Bronis, but excluding Lavinia whose will stated that she was not to be brought back. The Highwaymen promptly disband, the tensions brought out by the imposter leaving too many bitter feelings to continue operating as a group. Bronis decides to head back to Proskur in Cormyr to recover the ship they had purchased and perhaps do some sailing. The Winged Folk heads home to parts unknown. Ariel goes to Waterdeep, and Eros, Shadowspawn, and Garven return to Bloodstone with Tibit, Elnamor, Arilon, and Ilearyn where they settle in for another winter. Shadowspawn, Eros and Tibit begin the Bloodstone Campaign. OUTCASTS Hunt & Elisha have been transported from Krynn to Greyhawk by Blackhawk, who went to Krynn to pick up Elisha's brother Dain for reasons known only to Blackhawk. Hunt & Elisha precede the Highwaymen through the spaceship/gate and end up on the Forgotten Realms. Once there, Elisha is mistaken for another Drow elf and Hunt and Elisha get involved in a plot by the Drow to eliminate Elnamor.(more detail) Hunt and Elisha eventually come to the conclusion that going against Elnamor would be a good way to get one's self killed and they end up fighting and defeating the other people involved in the plot, including two blue dragons that had been charmed into serving as mounts for Hunt and Elisha. They decide to return to the spaceship to recover some equipment that had been left behind. While travelling back, a trip of many weeks, they meet several other people, including Bronis, who is also headed towards Cormyr. Along the way they have several short adventures, which takes them through to the new year. YEAR 586 GH 1361 DR 1336 CR OUTCASTS After arriving in Tilverton, the group of adventurers consisting of Alysha (a.k.a. Elisha), Huntsman 9 (a.k.a. Hunt), Bronis, Kroden, Thadeus Wren, Abdualcabar Al'azard, and Hazel register themselves as the adventuring party, The Outcasts. They are hired by Arakar Shimmerstar to investigate the large movements of humanoids near the northern Cormyr borderlands. Kroden and Hazel leave the group after a short while and Arakar joins the adventuring party. They discover a large army of orcs travelling to the spaceship for some sort of large gathering. The Outcasts send word to the Cormyr army and proceed to rush ahead to the ship before the orcs get there. Once they arrive they discover another army is already there and is unloading supplies and weapons from the ship. Even worse, there is a dracolich present at the site. After "acquiring" some of the weapons for themselves, the Outcasts launch a surprise attack against the forces at the ship. They sneak in and mine the spot where the dracolich has been observed landing several times, then engage the troops in combat. They manage to kill the dracolich and force it's rider to teleport away. The rider was Murmandamus, a dark skinned elf with a purple dragon birthmark on his chest. He is the same elf seen at Nulb when Elmo and the Elven Knight were killed and again just before Selena disappeared into the abyss, although no characters were at more than one of these events to make the connection. The army routs and the Outcasts, with several seriously injured members, retreat to the camp they have set up in a cave a mile or so away from the ship. The next day the Outcasts meet with several members of the Cormyr army and decide to pursue the fleeing orcs, with the exception of Alysha, who elects to remain at the spaceship and secure it as a base for the Outcasts. During the following month, the Outcasts fight several battles against humanoids, giants, and a black dragon. During that time Arakar gets poisoned with a magical poison derived from the Silverthorn plant. He discovers that he must travel to the north to find a cure. Two months and several attempts on their lives later, the Outcasts arrive at the Great Glacier where they engage in battle with a band of frost giants which proves to be fatal for most of the Outcasts mounts, especially Abdual's camel, who gets crushed between two tossed boulders. The battle almost proves to be fatal for several members of the Outcasts as well. Bronis manages to track down and capture an oiliphant to use as a mount while other members of the party are healing. Two days later the party discovers a cave which leads to the lair of a remorhaz, which they defeat and then are greeted by an ancient elf who leads them to a large forest which exists under the glacier. The elves heal the party and inform them that they can cure Arakar, if the party can travel to Moraelin, the Black Lake, and recover a Silverthorn plant, which grows near the shore. The party heads out, planning on spending the first night in the ruins of Frozen Flindyke. They battle several winter wolves on the way and when they arrive, they discover a group of ogres gathered in an amphitheatre watching the Ogre Winifred show. The Outcast of course decide to attack and several of them end up rather beat up, as usual. During the night, Abdual sees what he believes to be several dragons peering over the amphitheatre walls. He very quickly wakes the rest of the group and they prepare for battle. Fortunately it turns out that there are not several dragons attacking. Unfortunately there is a 16 headed hydra attacking. They manage to kill the hydra, with some difficulty. While still in the ruins the next day, they are attacked several more times at various points by a Behir, ghouls and a ghast, two manticores, several huecuvas, and giant rats. The attack that almost does them in is when six driders attack the Outcasts, killing several more of their mounts in the process. The Outcasts manage to capture one of the driders and discover that the driders have an outpost in the basement of the old city hall and were sent by Murmandamus to eliminate the Outcasts. They also confirm their suspicion that they are being watched by magical means and that Murmandamus is expecting them at the Black Lake and has set up an ambush along the way. The next morning the Outcasts, somewhat worse for wear, launch a surprise attack on the driders that remain at the outpost, and manage to defeat them without much trouble (for a change). They then leave the ruins and head out along the Palavir River, east towards the mountains and the Black Lake. A couple of days travel down the river, the party encounters a lich sitting on a boulder outside a castle who seems to have been expecting them. He tells them that they must hurry up and get rid of the "cows" that are in his courtyard. The cows turn out to be Gorgons and before the battle really even begins, Hunt gets turned to stone. By the time the battle is over Abdual has also been turned to stone. The lich pays the party with several magic items, including an amulet that protects them against scrying, but he doesn't bother changing Hunt and Abdual back. The Outcasts are sitting around, trying to figure out what to do with their two new statues when Sun Wolf's band of mercenaries show up. They were the one's that the lich had actually hired to get rid of the gorgons. They manage to work out a deal with the Sun Wolf and his band to turn Abdual and Hunt back from stone, but Abdual dies from the shock and the Outcasts are left having to deal with the lich to get Abdual raised. They manage a trade with the lich who turns out to be extremely interested in rare books. The lich makes copies of Hunt's medical books from his home planet in exchange for a wish spell, which they use to bring Abdual back. Several days and several close calls with Black Slayers, Trolls, and a Black Dragon later, the Outcasts arrive near the Black Lake. They are camped out when they see General Murad and a dozen Black Slayers moving along the road to the Black Lake. The Outcasts decide to launch one of their infamous sneak attacks. It was not a good idea decides Abdual as he levitates invisibly 200 yards in the air several minutes later, looking down on the headless corpses of Bronis (death # 5), Hunt, and Arakar and the pile of sludge that had moments earlier been Thadeus. Murad takes the bodies to the Black Lake where they are brought back to life, with the intention of turning them into Black Slayers. Happily, they managed to break out and meet Abdual. They fight Murad again, Hunt manages to disarm Murad and kill him with his own vorpal sword. The party then decides to hide under the surface of the lake in an air bubble created with Hunt's ring of elemental control of water. While under the lake they discover two Silverthorn plants and decide to beat a hasty retreat. They make it back to the elves, Arakar gets cured and they all get teleported back to Cormyr, where they rest, recuperate, collect their rewards, and party. Arakar warns Bloodstone of the possibility of an invasion and the Outcasts settle into their respective homes for the winter.
