The Calgary elections are finally over and Naheed Nenshi is now the new Mayor of Calgary.
Quoting a CBC article “Nenshi outlined four priorities he wants to tackle as soon as he is sworn in next Monday: dealing with the city’s $60-million budget shortfall, moving forward on a road tunnel under a new airport runway, planning for a new southeast light rail transit line and reforming the city administration.”
That will be the real test, to see if he can deliver on the promises he made during the campaign, after all, it’s not all his choice, he’s got to convince enough of the Aldermen to agree with him as well.
And, to be totally honest, at this point I’ll just be happy to see all of the signs disappear from what seems to be all available open space in the city.
